Soft Tissue Fillers

What are soft tissue fillers?

Aging isn’t just due to the effect of gravity, it is the loss of volume in our face over time. Soft tissue fillers are a simple, immediate way to replace volume. Soft tissue fillers can be used in the smile lines between the nose and the mouth, the fine lines around the mouth, other depressions or scars. There are a number of options to fill in wrinkles or creases.

What are hyaluronic acid fillers, Restylane®, Juvederm®, and Voluma®?

Juvederm and Restylane are made of hyaluronic acid. This is a substance that found in all of your cells. They are injected into wrinkles to fill them out for 9-12 months. These can also be used to make lips fuller. By injecting along the lip border, it gives a more defined lip and prevents lipstick spreading along the fine lines. Injecting into the corners of the lower lips can give a slight upturn to the corners. Our injecting techniques gives a full, pouty lip, but never overdone.

Voluma is the newest hyaluronic acid filler and it lasts 2 years. It is FDA approved for cheek volumization. It works well to give you a youthful, full, but never over-filled cheek, as well as a lift to the mid-face.

What is a Restylane®?

Restylane is hyaluronic acid in a clear gel, and formulated to act like naturally-produced hyaluronic acid in our own bodies. It can help visibly improve facial wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

What is a collagen stimulating filler, like Sculptra®

Sculptra aesthetic is a different kind of filler. It stimulates the production of collagen in a series of injections. The result is a fuller, more youthful overall appearance with your own collagen. It lasts for approximately 2 years, but can be maintained with subsequent injections.
